Webroot Introduces BrightCloud IP Reputation Service for LogRhythm

Webroot's Next-Generation Threat Intelligence Services for Enterprise Powers LogRhythm's Platform to Protects Against Increasingly Sophisticated Cyber Threats

BROOMFIELD, Colo., Aug. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Webroot, the market leader in cloud-based, real-time Internet threat detection, today announced its integration with LogRhythm, one of the largest independent security intelligence companies in the world. The partnership will integrate the Webroot® BrightCloud® IP Reputation Service with LogRhythm's Security Intelligence Platform to identify threats more quickly and accurately. The integration with LogRhythm follows the recent introduction of Webroot BrightCloud Security Services for Enterprise, which extend security intelligence to enterprises facing unknown Web attacks and advanced persistent threats.

The BrightCloud IP Reputation Service for LogRhythm is a real-time threat intelligence service that helps LogRhythm customers identify malicious and benign IPs in their network traffic. LogRhythm users can correlate global IP Reputation data from Webroot against data already collected within LogRhythm to identify malicious IP traffic. Once identified, the system can perform a number of additional tasks to provide visibility into network behavioral changes, malicious IPs and automate the remediation of attacks. This enhances LogRhythm's already robust platform, which features SIEM, log management, network forensics, host forensics and advanced security analytics.

Webroot is also an inaugural partner of LogRhythm's Threat Intelligence Ecosystem, the industry's first collective of threat intelligence vendors focused on delivering unprecedented security intelligence via a next-generation security analytics and intelligence platform.

"BrightCloud Security Services are the number one threat intelligence services in the world, used by more large-sized network security providers than any other," said Mike Malloy, executive vice president of products and strategy at Webroot. "Integrating BrightCloud services into LogRhythm's Security Intelligence Platform now provides their customers with the same highly-accurate threat intelligence those security providers have relied on for years."

"We're delighted to partner with Webroot and have the company join the LogRhythm Threat Intelligence Ecosystem," said Matt Winter, vice president corporate & business development at LogRhythm. "Webroot has a compelling and unique approach to threat intelligence, and our common customers will benefit significantly from our integration. The combination of external context from Webroot's BrightCloud IP Reputation Service and LogRhythm's pervasive enterprise visibility and advanced analytics provides a powerful solution for combatting today's most advanced cyber threats."

In June, Webroot unveiled BrightCloud® Security Services for Enterprise, a new portfolio of services which makes Webroot's industry-leading threat intelligence available to enterprises through integration with popular network security and management platforms. BrightCloud Security Services work by collecting and analyzing threat intelligence across multiple vectors then correlates this data using the Webroot® Intelligence Network™, a cloud-based security analytics platform, to provide actionable and accurate real-time threat intelligence.
